Norwegian Center for Multicultural Value Creation (NSFV) is recommended by EU Commission as best practice for development of a European model for Migrant Entrepreneurship.
NSFV was invited to EU Commission to present their model for migrant entrepreneurship and success factors together with United Nations Industrial Development Organization, Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry and University of Birmingham. NSFV presented their model and their views for initiatives at the European level for an audience including parliament members, the Commissioner and other representatives from the EC. Attending the event was also a representative from Oslo Region European Office. NSFV is a national center for multicultural value creation, established in 2005. The center is owned by Buskerud County in the Oslo Region. ORE will be assisting NSFV with EU-matters.
"We are very satisfied with the EU Commission's interest to use our model and the experience from Norway for their further work at the European level, comments Zahra Moini, the Director for NSFV. It is inspiring to see that the Norwegian model can be applicable to others, she comments further."
Europe is facing great challenges regarding the refugees' situation and the migration waves. EU is focused on this agenda and is looking into Migrant Entrepreneurship as a means to help the migrants enter the work force through self-employment.
The EU commission is planning to establish specific programs and initiatives within migrant entrepreneurship during 2016. The initial step is knowledge gathering and conducting a survey of the available best practice models. The Commission is considering Norway as a pioneer within the field of migrant entrepreneurship and the model developed by NSFV is considered as a good and relevant model for other European countries.
