The European Movement International would be delighted to welcome you to our upcoming event held on World Environmental Day, within the context of EU Green Week 2019 :
‘Citizens for Change: The Role of Civil Society in Environmental Policies’
On Wednesday, 5 June 2019, from 16:00-18:00
At Guinguette Maurice, Parc Cinquantenaire in Brussels
Environmental protection is high on citizens’ agenda and it is time for us all to have more of a say! The decision-making process and implementation of environmental legislation at EU-level must engage citizens from all backgrounds and a diverse range stakeholders. NGOs, social partners, youth organisations, trade unions, local authorities, business and employer organisations all have their own perspectives on the subject.
Discussants include Francesca Carlsson, Legal Officer | European Environmental Bureau Ion Codescu, Head of Unit, Environmental Implementation Unit | European Commission Federica Sabbati, Secretary General | European Heating Industry Carol Thomas, Advisor | Council of European Municipalities and Regions Solveig Standal Skåravik, European Advisor – Energy, Climate & Transport |
Oslo Region European Office, European Green Capital 2019
This event is held as a ‘fish-bowl-style’ discussion, giving all participants a chance to exchange visions and ideas. Wewant to hear your thoughts and contributions to the discussion.
The fishbowl-style discussion format (as opposed to the traditional panel discussion) involves an inner circle of speakers that briefly kick off the discussion with their perspectives and with outer circles of listening participants who can, at any time, change places with the speakers of the inner circle and join the discussion and contribute with their own views.
Do come and join us at La Guinguette, Parc Cinquantenaire to discuss insights on different environmental perspectives !
